Dimitris says: Just one hour from central Athens, Poseidon's temple sits on a cliff 60 meters above the Aegean. The columns catch the afternoon light in a way photographs simply cannot capture. Always go in the afternoon — arrive at golden hour, stay for the sunset, and return along the coastal road as the sky turns purple. It's the single most dramatic experience you can have near Athens with half a day to spare. Every time a friend visits, this is where I take them.
